Securing Domestic Financing for Universal Health Coverage

Demand for health care is growing and external support is becoming more uncertain. Consequently, domestic resource mobilization (DRM) for health has emerged as an important topic in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). This brief articulates the lessons learned by USAID’s Health Finance and Governance (HFG) project in its efforts to support ministries of health (MOH) and their partners as they organize their work on and realize opportunities for DRM.
