The Family Planning Financing Roadmap is a resource for USAID Mission staff working on family planning issues in developing countries. The website is designed to support sustainable family planning approaches for a wide range of users, from those who have very limited knowledge of health financing concepts to those who have some knowledge or experience and are looking to develop a deeper understanding of specific issues.
The website has two main sections: learning materials and an interactive roadmap. The learning materials page includes:
- Information on health financing concepts – including broad topics such as universal health coverage and specific topics such as performance-based financing – and how they relate to family planning
- A glossary of health financing terms
- A page dedicated to country-specific family planning financing resources.
The interactive roadmap aims to identify relevant family planning financing options given a particular country’s context, and to provide more tailored learning for the user. Users will click through several screens to assess the family planning financing situation in one of 13 countries, and will be asked to review both quantitative and categorical information that is pre-loaded in the roadmap system. The roadmap generates a custom report recommending relevant family planning financing options for the selected country.
