This is the webinar recording for the global launch of Ready to Save Lives: A Preparedness Toolkit for Sexual and Reproductive Health Care in Emergencies. Informed by lessons from multiple countries and contexts, the toolkit was developed to help guide decision-makers and other stakeholders who want to ensure the provision of quality, appropriate sexual and reproductive health services from the onset of an emergency.
The toolkit was conceived by Jennifer Schlecht, FP2020’s humanitarian advisor until the time of her death just one year ago. Her vision—to develop a resource that would link the SRH and humanitarian sectors to improve the health of women and girls in crisis settings—was carried forward to honor her legacy by FP2020, the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), John Snow, Inc., Women’s Refugee Commission, and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in collaboration with the Inter-Agency Working Group on Reproductive Health in Crises (IAWG) with financial support from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO).
The Emergency Preparedness and Resilience (EPR) Sub-Working Group is a dedicated group of IAWG members, who seek to support the integration of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) into the preparedness efforts of humanitarian and development actors to improve the delivery of life-saving aid during conflict and disaster.
