The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation recently supported CHAI and Jhpiego to collaborate with the Kenyan Ministry of Health to develop a low-cost solution to build the capacity of current implant service providers to use the newer Implanon NXT product. Together CHAI and Jhpiego developed and tested an approach that utilized on-the-job (OJT) training to achieve competency with the procedure, while minimizing the time a provider spends away from his or her facility and reducing overall training costs.
