Following the recent U.S. presidential election, FP2030 reiterates its steadfast dedication to advancing global family planning and gender equality, in collaboration with countries, partners, and communities worldwide. Regardless of political shifts globally, FP2030 remains deeply committed to its mission to improve access to and use of voluntary family planning services, enabling individuals to make informed decisions about their health and future.
FP2030 is a global partnership working with countries and other stakeholders representing many viewpoints and ideologies. FP2030 will continue its work alongside global leaders, partner governments, CSOs, private sector, and donors – including USAID – to address the urgent need for equitable access to and use of family planning worldwide.
“Our commitment to creating a world where everyone, everywhere has the power and information they need to make informed decisions about pregnancy will not waver,” said Dr. Samukeliso Dube, Executive Director of FP2030. “FP2030 will continue to advocate for rights-based family planning services and work with our partners to strengthen health systems that provide essential care to millions of people.”
Now more than ever, it is critical to diversify funding streams for family planning worldwide, to create resilient global supply chains, quality services, and a narrative that family planning is key for economic progress. A more diverse funding landscape is more stable, more effective, and is directly tied to our ability to reach more people globally with rights-based family planning.
“We call on the global community to step up, double down and fund this work – fund family planning. It is a smart investment that pays dividends, and it’s simply the right thing to do,” said Dr. Dube. “The data shows: family planning pays off, it pays forward, and it pays back.”
FP2030 stands ready to work with commitment makers, advocates, and all other partners to build a world where access to rights-based family planning and reproductive health are promoted, protected, and secure. National and geopolitics might shift, and we want to reiterate that our resolve remains even stronger, and this should not stop us from achieving a vision of the future. A future where we can secure access to voluntary, rights-based family planning. We invite you to journey with us as we double down our efforts towards that future, where FP2030 will continue to provide support and guidance to actualize commitments from countries, NGOs, donors, multilateral organizations, young people, and more.
