This year’s data includes a range of downloadable resources: two excel data files with FP2030 indicators, country information pages, and updated visualizations via our dashboard.
This year’s release highlights:
- 380 million women and girls are using modern contraception in low- and lower-middle income countries as of July 2024.
- 143 million unintended pregnancies prevented with 144,000 maternal deaths averted and 29 million unsafe abortions averted from July 2023 to July 2024.
- Donor governments providing $1.47 billion in bilateral funding for family planning in 2023.

Looking ahead, our team is working to enhance the Data Dashboard and expand the suite of data resources we offer. A significant expansion in the number of countries covered for key FP2030 indicators, particularly in the Latin America & the Caribbean and Asia & the Pacific regions will be coming later this year. These new resources will provide deeper insights into family planning progress in these regions.
