FP2030 Special Edition

Woman that are members of a cooperative group that bake cakes with a solar oven provided and supported by DSW (Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevoelkerung), an international development and advocacy organization with focus on achieving universal access to sexual and reproductive health and rights, during a baking meeting. The women sell the cakes to community members, and at local markets and generate personal income for the women. This income enables the women to have some financial independence and not rely on their husband, when spending money on their health and education for their children. This income also helps them when deciding on family planning options. The group also gathers regularly to discuss sexual reproductive health, and family planning options.

FP2030 announces Asia and the Pacific Hub to be located in Kuala Lumpur

Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) gather outside Middle School Harka in Sitamarhi district to discuss community issues. Women's equal participation in governance and leadership roles are a step towards building stronger communities and improving reproductive health services at village, block, and district levels. A program called Women Leading Change supports the EWRs; it was developed by the Centre for Catalyzing Change (C3), an organization that partners with communities to raise women's voices and increase women's political participation.

How Nigeria Can Achieve FP2030 Target

Mukandayisenga Francine is a caretaker for her community's Early Childhood Development Program. The program is an initiative of the Imbuto Foundation and is implemented nationally across Rwanda. It connects families to share the responsibility of supervising young children and aims to ensure children receive the needed attention to thrive. During the week, children are brought together, often in a home volunteered by a community member, and adults rotate looking after them. The program also helps pregnant women prepare for motherhood. The Imbuto Foundation is a Rwandan organization dedicated to advancing health, education, and youth empowerment.
